"Homeless" Delegate Endorses Bob Good?
Say pal, can you spare an endorsement? OPINION with a spritz of Satire.
This post was originally posted on Hanover Conservative Caucus in 2023, and I’ll drop it here as Bob Good is desperate for endorsements and announced today by email that his pal Tim Griffin from the 53rd District tossed one in his cup! Mr. Griffin has a lot of interesting controversy swirling about him, including allegations of sexual misconduct. Take a look and let me know if you would brag about this endorsement if you were running for office. I sure wouldn’t.
,Tim Griffin offered the following statement about his endorsement of Congressman Good which Bob e-mailed out this morning:
"Bob Good has consistently been ranked as one the most conservative Congressman in the country. He not only votes the right way, but he has led the fight against reckless spending and has supported a pathway to balanced budgets. As a party leader, and now as an elected member of the House of Delegates, I know how rare it is to have a politician not only tell you exactly what they are going to do in office but actually fight to get it done. Now is not the time to be fooled by candidates who are chosen by and supported by the DC elites. We need to send Congressman Good back to Washington DC to continue to lead the fight on our behalf." Tim Griffin, 53rd District

Post to the Hanover Conservative Caucus blog on March 23, 2023.
What do Tim Griffin, who is running as the GOP candidate for Delegate in Virginia's 53rd District, and Duane Adams, who is running for State Senator in the new 10th District, have in common? They both have the support of freshman Congressman Bob Good of the 5th Congressional District.
And ‘so what,’ you might ask?
For starters, why is a junior congressman like Good, who has yet to do much for his district, obsessing over a local primary that senior congressmen like Rob Wittman have the good sense to stay out of? Don't we have a border crisis, debt and financial problems, a rogue Justice Dept., looming nuclear war, and other national problems while Good is squandering the People's time on a local primary?
To answer that, let's first check out Good's candidates.
If you follow this blog, you have read up plenty on Adams, and you will immediately have to wonder what possesses Good to run as a substitute (for Adams) in a state primary. And then doubles down to compensate for this Democrat that hid his past from his constituents who governs by raising property taxes 35+% with another hike on the way, refuses to recuse himself from BOS decisions concerning projects of his developer donors, lost the FEMA flood certification for his county while failing to deal with development runoff flooding damaging farms and homeowners' property.
If Good is anything more than the recitation of conservative talking points and is actually interested in doing his job in DC, why is he supporting an old Democrat "opportunist" and a lawyer who has possibly committed a felony? Why is he obsessed, insecure, vindictive, and petty over a patriotic veteran and Navy SEAL like John McGuire?
Now to the other candidate that Good is pushing- a fellow named Griffin.
Is endorsing a man involved in an election fraud scandal a Good idea?
Seems this clown, like Adams, parrots conservative talking points to obtain support, enough to have himself elected to Chair of the Bedford GOP unit! Not only that, but he is a lawyer of the election fraud variety and worked for Phill Kline of the Amistad Project, which pursues election fraud cases! He has no excuse- read on!
All good, right?
"Self-proclaimed election hawk and GOP candidate for Delegate in Virginia’s 53rd District, Tim Griffin, appears blatantly ineligible to run for office under Virginia state law and apparently committed voter fraud after court documents and audio recordings confirmed that he’d spent years voting from a phony address belonging to an Airbnb while living a nomadic and “essentially homeless” life in multiple states and jurisdictions." by FRANKIE STOCKES / NATIONAL FILE
Nope, seems this election fraud lawyer who has Bob Good's imprimatur likely has committed election fraud by running in the 53rd district where he has no residence and faked it with a BnB address. This type of fraud, I am told, carries a potential Class 3 felony conviction if successfully prosecuted. Griffin, being both a lawyer and officer of the court is facing a very angry judge. Click the highlighted quotes to read all about it.
According to the Code of Virginia:
“In order to qualify as a candidate for any office of the Commonwealth, or of its governmental units, a person must be qualified to vote for and hold that office. In order to hold any office of the Commonwealth or its governmental units, elective by the people, the candidate must have been a resident of the Commonwealth for one year preceding his election and be qualified to vote for that office.”
What’s this got to do with Bob Good?
Both these clowns have Bob’s stamp of approval! Bob Good calls McGuire a liar, all the while propping up a Democrat that hid his party affiliation and supports a guy who lied about his residence in order to become Chair of the GOP Unit and run for office in Bedford! Can you imagine the potential damage this does to the conservative agenda here in our districts? Does he actually see these guys as stalwarts for political machine-building? Reckless!
Bob endorses frauds and Democrats- guys that former Senator Dick Black, an actual conservative, refers to as opportunists! Read all about it here.
If Adams is such a 'Good' candidate, why the need to slather Good's pic 3 times
over Adams' one on this mailer? Telling! Does Good now prefer a run for the State Senate over the job we hired him to do? I have never seen anything like this before from a congressman!
What we have here looks like network building and seems to flesh out the “Adam’s Family,” a circle of pikers whose wake has an insecure Jr. Congressman, a fellow who could be convicted of an election-related felony, developers from CA, a recall effort against Adams, a congressman whose district now contains the only County in Virginia without FEMA FLOOD CERTIFICATION! Unbelievable.
Good's bait and switch / substitute campaign for Adams says his whole campaign relies upon a single endorsement, without which it is too weak to proceed! Adams has really had only this one endorsement, while McGuire has over 70 conservatives and a stellar voting record and conservative ratings. Nothing of the like has been earned by any of these three people, and it is easy, by the actual record, to see who has built coalitions through service and who is compensating because they have not. Lies of omission, lies about others, and lies about themselves are what characterize this desperate play for power.
My take is Good looks like an ass by all this and it is not what I signed on for as a delegate at his convention. We have an insecure congressman freaking out over a Navy SEAL that served our Country honorably all over the world with a real record of conservative legislation while attempting to push off on us a Democrat that faked his way into a Republican BOS seat and wants to become our State Senator whose record is self-serving- a major red flag. And all the while, wasting precious time here while a battle for the soul of the country is raging in DC!
Is Bob Good's problem that he has no discernment?
Is paranoia about Veteran McGuire looking better than him driving this seeming irrational desperation and insecurity?
Is Conservatism best portrayed in public office by acting like a tyrant who feels compelled to eliminate perceived challengers like some little Castro wannabe while the Country is going to hell in a handbasket?
It it wise for a freshman Congressman to work against half his constituents in a State primary?
I have also watched the video the Adams campaign has circulated of Good attempting to justify his rage against McGuire. I'll take that apart next post. But I will leave you with two points on it:
Firstly, Good concedes the only truth of this Nothing-Burger in that anyone has the right to challenge any candidate in a primary, assuming you live in the district on the State level. That’s the end of the story right there, but Good insists on convincing the listener that his blubbering weak insecurities are something of worth. McGuire considered his many options but did not file or pursue it further. Good, on the other hand, can't let it go for the better interests of our districts and Virginia.
Secondly, none of the audience of McGuire supporters knew they were being recorded by Chris Shores, former house painter and present-day campaign whitewasher, who is Good's and Adam's hired consultant, for an Adams campaign video. The deceptiveness of these people is unbelievable while attempting to label a man who served his country a liar!
Good, I am told, never served in the military!
