NO'fer Gophers Go For Elected School Boards!
WHAT'S GOOD FOR SOL SCORES MUST BE BETTER FOR RANKINGS! SATIRE/COMMENTARY
One thing about politics that never changes is strange bedfellows! When you got a good thing, getting a gooder thing must be even goody-gooder! And those NO-buddies, that hate parent involvement are in no mood to say no to knowing what is no good… or something. Well, at least that is how coherent their arguments have been up till now!
The logical geniuses in the NO’fer camp claim good test scores result from appointing school boards. When elected school systems in Virginia have even gooder scores in State Rankings, the NO’fers have their faces pressed against the proverbial vaping or tattoo shop window and want the best.
The NO’fer campaign heralds SOL scores as proof that political appointees made by Republican and Democrat Supervisors as payback for loyalty can be even goodlier now that information (by yours truly) proves their theory correct.
Hanover Residents FB Page published Virginia School Rankings demonstrating that all the top 20 School Systems elect their School Boards. The No’fer folks, excited over SOLs scores, now aspire to the top 20 and call on everyone to ditch the Supervisor’s political appointees and vote YES. Seems rational. Who could settle for second-best knowing appointees got you to the middle of rankings when elected unquestionably hold the top of the heap! Those NONOs aren’t satisfied to be locked into the vast middle of scorings with appointed SBs any longer, its time to move on up! (BTW, what is wrong with those other ten appointing systems anyway? They are all at the bottom except Galax City. They should have the same results as Hanover because appointments equal test scores- don’t they know?)
Now that the NONOs see Hanover can move up from the top 50 for elementary schools and the top 30 for high schools with elected school boards, the excitement among them is palatable- you read that correctly! NoNoNo is now YesYesYes!
All Hanover has to do to make it into the top 20 systems in Virginia is upgrade the method of appointing school board members to elected school boards, and test scores will improve immediately - just like they say about the SOLs! WOW! What a great idea, I wish I had thought of it!
So here’s kudos to the ‘NO Parents Running For School Boards’ folks for brilliantly expanding on their point that the method of seating members on the school board makes a big difference in test scores and rankings! What’s good for the appointed seat, is even goodlier for the elected seat!
What an excellent standard they have, showing the fastest way to improve test scores is by the method of seating School Boards!
Let’s all help them vote YES!
