Bob Good Brags On Never-Trump Endorsement!
Eagle Forum is an empty husk of anti-Trumpism after Schlafly ousted. ~OPINION
Bob Good doesn’t strike me as a bright fellow. He hires house painters who model themselves after notorious criminals as consultants. They have an abysmal win rate at getting candidates elected, and they keep leading him into fiascos such as stabbing Trump in the back or hijacking and entrapping his constituents in a Jan6-style setup at a Trump event in Farmville. He has been widely criticized by the media and readers all over the country for that. He also vacated the best fundraiser in the GOP (after taking $2.5 million from him), Kevin McCarthy, right when Trump was about to be reelected and needed a majority in both chambers of Congress.
Yesterday, he bragged about an endorsement from the Eagle Forum by email and social media. If you recall, the Eagle Forum was Phyllis Schlafly’s brainchild. Still, her board members, including her daughters, were all anti-Trumpers and mounted a coup to oust her from her organization for supporting Donald Trump! There is a pattern with Good and his constant Never-Trumping!
The Never-Trumpers left the Organization little more than a shell of what it was under Schlafly, destroying her life’s work like locusts. If you look at the paltry list of endorsements, they are other Never-Trumper/DeSantis and Never Back Down PAC candidates! No wonder Bob is all abuzz!
But wait, there’s more! Much, much more!
These Never Trumpers who crucified Schlafly and burned her life’s work to the ground have not endorsed Donald Trump! Bob Good’s Anti-Trump Eagle Forum endorsement is a means to posture on Phyllis Schlafly’s grave as if he is a Schlafly conservative! Perfect! She’s dead and can’t say otherwise. But he is no conservative by my measure. A conservative must actually conserve something, not merely read talking points off a script.
Bob hopes you will associate this endorsement with the name of Schlafly, just as he hopes that the signs he printed with his name and Trump’s will fool you. Bob is utterly deceptive and not who he wants you to believe he is. Phyllis Schlafly would never endorse Bob Good. Bob Good is a deceiver.
Trump is winning the effort to keep him off the ballot in various states, Bob Good chose to align himself with that effort in the manner and timing in which he endorsed Ron DeSantis. Both Good and DeSantis owe their positions to Trump. Both betrayed him. Good just can’t stop being Never-Trump but he does attempt to fake it as in Farmville and in Richmond this past Saturday. Both attempts to weasel back into MAGA failed spectacularly. I’ll outline the Richmond Fiasco in the next post based on the eyewitness accounts of several witnesses.
Various articles on the web:
Eagle Forum, the conservative group founded by conservative columnist Phyllis Schlafly, descended into chaos over the weekend after the organization’s Missouri chapter claimed several board members are attempting a hostile takeover.
Schlafly has called for the immediate resignation of six board members, including her daughter, Anne Cori, whom she accuses of being behind the takeover attempt. Eunie Smith, Carolyn McLarty, Anne Cori, Rosina Kovar, Shirley Curry, and Cathie Adams are the six board members addressed in Schlafly’s letter.
Schlafly said in a message Monday that the group attempted to wrest control from her in a telephone meeting Monday afternoon.
While Phyllis Schlafly's Stop ERA campaign was single-minded in its goal, Mrs. America shows how it eventually folded into the Eagle Forum, a large special interest group centered around conservative, anti-feminist ideologies. They organized against abortion, sex education, and gay rights, and in 2020, the Eagle Forum stands behind Trump and his most conservative beliefs.
2017 SPLC piece lends some background even if peppered with their bias.
The “Eagle Council” is the annual conference of the Eagle Forum, the political interest group founded by the influential and polarizing conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly. The meeting in St. Louis from September 22 through 24 was the second of two rival Eagle Councils in two weeks, the result of an acrimonious split in Eagle Forum leadership after Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump during the 2016 election. When Schlafly died in September 2016, that disagreement led to a schism that tore the Eagle Forum in two. The pro-Trump faction, called Phyllis Schlafly Eagles, put on the St. Louis conference. The group includes Schlafly’s two sons, Andy and John, as well as Missouri Tea Party politician and Schlafly ally Ed Martin.

Common Sense Verdict: John McGuire's "Pledge" Is Not Solemn Nor Binding. Part 1 and 2.
Have you seen the Daily Mail video claiming John McGuire pledged not to run against incumbent Bob Good? Pastors and Christian organizations are hand-wringing and rushing to judgment on this ruse, accepting the premise McGuire violated a pledge and is at odds with Christianity,…
Part 3: Bob Good Speedily Reneges on Pledges,
The Pledge Ploy is a thinly veiled and desperate attempt to shift attention away from Bob Good’s constant lies and failure to legislate as a congressman. Conservatism is not defined by getting elected on one’s skill at reciting talking points and voting nay on legislation that passes anyway and presenting it as a record. Defense without an offense can’t …
