Is team Never-Trump led by Cuccinelli and Bob "no-bills" Good nesting in Hanover? OPINION
Life is full of patterns, and politics is no exception. If you have been giving the ads on FB and in your mailbox from lawyer Graven Craig a brief look, they all have the same tone as those sent out against John McGuire. You, like me, might be wondering if the source of these is the usual suspects somewhere in the background. The same false claims and spin sound like those from the Duane Adams campaign. A guess, yes, but is it a stretch- you decide.
Lying Tongues?
Numerous false claims were leveled against John McGuire. Bob Good, who didn’t serve, called the former SEAL a coward. He claimed McGuire was stalking him. Adam’s campaign implied a go-nowhere resolution regarding the ERA was actual legislation that McGuire supported. He voted against it a half dozen times when it came up in bill form. The people behind that campaign had to know the resolution was toothless- they assumed you didn’t and wouldn’t fact-check them and continued to feed you the lie. One bald-faced lie after another.
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it,
people will eventually come to believe it."
~Joseph Goebbels
I see the same thing coming out of Graven Craig's campaign- a litany of preposterous lies about Buddy Fowler variously being a liberal, taking money from unnamed extremist Leftist groups (VPAP proves this is a lie), claiming he voted to accept concealed carry from emergency workers- a dead bill that never made into law! This time from Ken Cuccinelli via text message. Another dead bill those same EMS and Fire workers didn’t support because of flaws in the language. The people behind this campaign knew it- they assumed you didn’t, so they continued feeding you lies. One bald-faced lie after another.
It’s not that they disrespect their opponent,
they have no respect for you.
Imagine the lies they will tell you if given power.
The Cabal:
Bob Good spends a lot of time worrying about his rear. He interferes in local primaries and Committee units. He has good reason; he doesn’t get anything done in DC. He is scared to death of men who have a solid record of getting legislation passed into law- men like Buddy Fowler and John McGuire. Bob is attempting to primary-proof himself by building a political machine. Bob seems to want to control as many County Units as possible, and Hanover is on his list. This empire-building doesn’t do anything for your interests or mine and nothing to fulfill Good’s campaign promises.
Bob is undoubtedly butt-hurt over the massive rebuff Hanover and other counties delivered to him and his candidate Duane Adams at the 10th Senate District Convention. McGuire lost to Adams by one vote in Louisa- a stinging rebuke of Bob and his chosen Duane. Adams only was able to garner 4 or 5 delegates in Hanover. I’ll take some credit for that. Good showed how petty and vindictive he can be in his obsessive attacks against McGuire. Good isn’t the only one with a massive heaping of pride; there are others. So what’s this all got to do with Buddy Fowler? Buddy Fowler endorsed McGuire instead of Jack Dyer. Jack is also butt-hurt, as he may have assumed he was entitled.
The Louisa Connection:
The Louisa Republican Committee is led by Chair Robin Horne, Duane Adams, and to some degree, by their close ally Graven Craig. They are tight among themselves and lined up with Bob Good, who attended their Mass Meeting to lend support and direction after their historic loss to McGuire. The four of them ran the meeting. It was a bizarre power grab, and I covered some of it here.
When he lies, he speaks out of his own character,
for he is a liar and the father of lies.
The Gospel according to Saint John, Chap.8, v44.
They had a guest- Jack Dyer. Was he there for lessons? Dyer threw in with Adams at the Convention. It appeared they hoped to get to a second round to combine votes to take out McGuire. That didn’t work, so there is Fowler.
There are some interesting parallels with those already mentioned. Dyer, like Adams, lost Hanover to McGuire big time. Like Bob Good’s anger at McGuire, Dyer’s anger at Buddy Fowler for the McGuire endorsement is misplaced in politics- if you can’t accept a challenge or losing, you shouldn’t run. Jack’s use of the Executive Committee for his campaign didn’t help him defeat McGuire. Jack attempted to block McGuire from speaking at the Hanover Unit meeting until he saw it was creating a stir with Party leaders here. He used the Hanover Unit Committee meeting to attack Buddy Fowler and employed the same tactic of claiming dead bills (HB1473, 2161, SB1151) to paint Fowler as working against the people’s interest in “transparency” and thwarting “disclosure,” just as Adams and Good used the ERA issue. The hypocrisy of claiming Fowler had intent to hide something from people while not revealing one of the bills was killed and the others established MINIMUM STANDARDS only, that localities can exceed, is unbelievably deceptive. I also heard Jack’s attempt to deny John McGuire time to address the Unit so did others. Is Jack on the team with Good, Cuccinelli, Adams, Craig, and Co.? It sure seems that way to me. It all leads me to believe these people operate for power and revenge rather than to serve the taxpayers.
What do you think?
Buddy Fowler never stoops to these kinds of tactics and it is one reason I endorse Buddy Fowler and will vote for him. I ask you to do the same.
